Website Mock up: SAO Arts & Education Village

Below you will find my web site's mock up. SAO Arts & Education Village is an organization I'm working towards establishing in the near future. This assignment was slightly challenging due to my connection and the passion I have for this to become a reality (of course I want it perfect! : ). As you will see the layout is little different because I couldn't work all the details out the way I have it on paper.

I must say that this project was very intense. I almost completed the assignment before hitting the wrong button causing a serious mishap days ago. I couldn't undo it and basically had to start form scratch. I had only click save once, which was the beginning step of changing the eyes. It is now complete since I've calmed down from feeling defeated by technology lol.  I realized the the tutorial did not cover all the requirements like most of you I'm sure towards the end. I did my best and devoted several hours to my finish product.

Youssou N'Dour - Book cover

Youssou N'Dour is an artist I've always enjoyed after learning about him from a West African restaurant I use to frequent back home (New Orleans). I had the pleasure to meet him, watch and dance during one of his rehearsals in Dakar, Senegal a couple years ago. I've recently read that he is considering running for presidency for his country. His story is very interesting and I'm honored to acknowledge as well as introduce him to those that may not know of him.

Racism

Here is a few sketches of the concept I have to use an image of young children to portray the ugliness of racism. In my field of work,  I'm constantly working with and around people of different backgrounds and ages. Although  many people may never experience racism, it still exist.

Poster 1

Poster 2: I recently saw a video on Facebook with preschoolers of different ethnic backgrounds welcome back their classmate who was out sick for week. The student was embraced with hugs and smiles. I thought to myself the world would be very different if everyone had the purity of children.

Indie Artist Tré Thomas

Essence of Tré - Working on the idea to show a day in the life of Tré Thomas to help showcase his dedication for his crowd-funding campaign.

I decided to take parts of each drawing to build on the cd cover for Tré Thomas. Tré is a local artist in DC working diligently on his music career. The photomontage is to help with his brand, commitment to his music and fans, and to help with a crowd-funding campaign for his latest project.
